At Anchor, we see Families in Partnership as an "investment of time and talent to promote the missions and ministry of Anchor Lutheran School". This "Partnership" was created for two important reasons: to help parents be involved with their children' s school lives; secondly, to help the school improve its endeavors in the areas of instuction, teacher assistance, extra-curricular offering, building maintenance and "community" building.
We ask that each family fulfill a 20 hour obligation of service to the school per year and all parents are required to sign an agreement detailing the program. Partnership hours accumulate June through May of the corresponding school year and do not carry over from one year to another. Parents must track their hours in the designated binder kept in the office.
There are many ways to offer your time and talents to meet the mission and ministry of the school and qualify for FIP hours. Some examples include utilizing your occupation as appropriate, attending Parent Council meetings, coaching, building and grounds maintenance, mailings, serving hot lunch, assisting with the annual Auction and Open Houses, and helping in the classroom or the school library. Your children love seeing you in school and so do we!
Also, all of your 20 FIP hours can be instantly fulfilled if a family referred by you enrolls!
